These various types of geosynthetics can be used to fulfill one or more specific functions in a variety of roadway applications. Matching the right fabric to a specific application is paramount for the success of any project. GeoSys Wall System™ may be defined as a composite earth structure, wherein soil (or other suitable fill) is internally stabilized by the inclusion of discrete layers of SuperbGrid which are generally placed in the plane perpendicular to wall facing, between successive lifts of fill, during construction. GeoSys wall system™ is a flexible structure as compared to R.C.C rigid structure and is more stable under large and unforeseen deformations due to earthquake, differential settlements and subsidence.

GeoSys wall system™ is compatible with a variety of facing systems, including large sized discrete concrete panels, segmental panels, small sized modular concrete blocks, vegetative facing with wrap around or with stones filled gabion, etc., etc..

GeoSys wall system™ is also compatible with wide range of fill materials, ranging from non cohesive frictional fills locally available at site to fly ash and other similar non cohesive, non plastic fills. Marginal cohesive fill material can allso be used with GeoSys wall system™ by providing adequate design.

GeoSys Wall System™ is designed using Internationally accepted codes of practice (AASHTO, FHWA, BS8006 etc.), as well as catering to MORT&H Specifications & IRC-SP 102 and/or recommendation Project Specifications requirements. Construction of GeoSys Wall System ™ is executed in adherence with approved design by adopting correct construction techniques in accordance with site requirements.

Basal Reinforcement / Ground Improvement

Constructing embankments over soft ground or over strata with inadequate bearing capacity with traditional options of excavating, disposing, and replacing the poor soil with granular fill, may not be economical or environmentally viable. SuperbCell or SuperbGrid-Bx are cost effective and proven solution for such cases.

Environmental protection of slopes and erosion control

SuperbCell or SuperbGrid-Bx and SuperbGrid in combination can retain the face soil and encourage growth of vegetation. Installation of SuperbGrid-Bx is done on the surface of slope and a layer of top soil is laid and compacted over with it. Natural vegetation or special seeding coverage.

In case of steep slopes (usually angles greater than 45°) SuperbGrid is required to be wrapped around on the facia using sand bags to provide a natural appearance. SuperbGrid is installed in layers. Over a period of time, vegetation cover is developed which minimizes the impact on environment by creating flexible structures occupying lesser area. Once the green finish is attained, geogrids are no longer visible. Alternatively, steep stable slopes can also be constructed using SuperbCell

For slip repairs or in case of failed slopes, existing local soil can be excavated and reused by reinforcing this with layers of SuperbGrid. This is a very cost effective solution.

Roads, Expressways, Haul roads, Heavy Duty Pavements, Ports, Airport pavements, Container yards and other paved areas.

Provision of one layer or multi layer of SuperbGrid-Bx in pavements base improves fill compaction, distributes loading and disperses stress more effectively, controls differential settlement, prevents sinking of base layer of the road into the foundation, improves bearing capacity, saves time and construction cost, and very often makes impossible access, possible. Improved fill compaction and superior interlocking mechanism prevents differential settlement of heavily loaded areas such as container yards.

SuperbGrid-Bx can help you get out onto the site, in any weather or soil condition. Just roll out the grid and push out a layer of aggregate fill, and you've got a firm, free-draining access road to work on.

Provision of GeoSys ST series high strength non woven geotextile in the pavement base can extend the life of pavement extensively and effectively, as it provides a reinforcement layer that is self draining and that prevents loss of fines and at the same time acts a separation layer that doesn't allow intermixing of layers.

Permanent Way Track Bed Stabilization.

Rail tracks on a soft sub grade always have the problem of rapid and permanent settlement, leading to disturbed formation levels. The other frequent problems encountered by Permanent Way Engineers are lateral displacement of ballast and construction over weak ground.

On reinforcing the rail track ballast with SuperbGrid-Bx

Asphalt reinforcement

GeoSys Paving fabric (Geopav) has the potential, when designed and installed properly, to retard reflective cracking and provide a moisture barrier that prevents water from penetrating the road structure both before and after cracking. Geopav effectively control many types of cracking. This membrane creates a safety net that spreads out the load that is placed on the pavement and helps it work as a single unit to retard "reflective cracking". The result is a new overlay that lasts much longer than one performed without Geopav and a job that is considerably less costly than one, where all cracks and low severity alligator cracking has to be cut out and patched. It's cost effective and it works!

G'Grid-FG - Glass Fiber geogrid from GeoSys India is a high-stiffness fiber glass mesh that reinforces asphalt concrete overlays in pavement construction. These grids have been proven to prolong the pavement maintenance period life by preventing the effects of reflective cracking caused by traffic loading, age hardening and temperature cycling. Coated with polymer / asphalt, it's widely used for the reinforcement of asphalt surfaces . These are pressure sensitive self adhesive geogrds with such characteristics as high tensile strength in both warp and weft direction, low elongation, high modulus, alkali - resistance and long term performance.

Landfill and waste management structures

GeoSys India provides G'Mem-HP -a high performance HDPE geomembrane liner and G'Mem-LP - LDPE liners along with other components like drainage geonets, geocomposites, used extensively in construction of waste management landfills, engineered capping systems and other similar engineered projects. G'mem-HP contains waste and controls the movement of leachate and gases and serves the purpose of much required impermeable layer in both Hazardous waste landfill and MSW Landfill. Owing to its superior properties, it performs the function of a very superior impermeable barrier layer. It also serves the purpose of a capping layer, once the landfill is full and controls seepage of rain water into the landfill.
